Doug Weiss, DPT
Hawaii Kai Physical Therapy’s lead practitioner, Doug Weiss, has been a licensed physical therapist since graduation from the University of Florida School of Physical Therapy in 1993.
After two years working on the stroke and spinal cord teams at Tampa General Rehab Center, he moved on to home health care, becoming the core physical therapist and team leader. He was instrumental in developing the first Home Care Orthopedic program sanctioned by CMS in the nation.
Doug has worked in outpatient and home care setting ever since. His focus has been neurology, fall prevention, gerontology and sports injuries.
When he is not working in the clinic you will find Doug hiking the trails of Oahu, Kauai and beyond. He is also an avid kayaker and runner. He has lived in Oahu since 1997 and calls Kailua Home. In 2015, Doug graduated with a Doctorate Degree from A.T. Still University in Arizona.
Martin de Bueger
Originally from Australia, Martin has worked as a Physical Therapist for 25 years, and for the last 13 years has served the Honolulu area.
Martin possesses extensive expertise in orthopedic therapy, manual therapy, and neurological treatment modalities, among many others. Known for his easygoing manner, Martin fits right in with the professional and friendly atmosphere at Hawaii Kai Physical Therapy.
When he’s not working, Martin enjoys surfing, kayaking, and keeping in touch with his daughter who is in college.
Alison is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario Physical Therapy class of 1991. She moved to Hawaii in 2003 and has since been working in the outpatient setting, including Orthopedic, Neurological, Pulmonary, and Geriatric clients.
Alison is NDT certified, LSVT-BIG certified, and has taken advanced courses in neurological treatments. Her orthopedic continuing education includes McKenzie and Mulligan concepts, Sahrmann Movement System Impairment Syndromes, and Evidence-Based Orthopedic Evaluation and Treatment of the Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar spine by Chad Cook.
Alison’s extra-curricular activities include playing soccer and performing in community musical theater. She is also lead singer and keyboard player for the rock/blues band Tell Mama.
